free amazon hackAmazon’s technology[edit]*Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Information Management (IM) support Amazon’s business strategy. The core technology that keeps Amazon running is Linux-based. As of 2005, Amazon had the world’s three largest Linux databases, with capacities of 7.8 TB, 18.5 TB, and 24.7 TB. The central data warehouse of Amazon is made of 28 Hewlett Packard Enterprise servers with four CPUs per node running Oracle database software. Amazon’s technology architecture handles millions of back-end operations every day, as well as queries from more than half a million third-party sellers. With hundreds of thousands of people sending their credit card numbers to Amazon’s servers every day, security becomes a major concern. Amazon employs Netscape Secure Commerce Server using the Secure Socket Layer protocol which stores all credit card details in a separate database. The company also records data on customer buyer behavior which enables them to offer or recommend to an individual specific item, or bundles of items based upon preferences demonstrated through purchases or items visited.[88]**On January 31, 2013 Amazon experienced an outage that lasted approximately 49 minutes, leaving its site inaccessible to some customers.[89]**On May 5, 2014 Amazon unveiled a partnership with Twitter. Twitter users can link their accounts to an Amazon account and automatically add items to their shopping carts by responding to any tweet with an Amazon product link bearing the hashtag #AmazonCart. Customers never leave the Twitter feed, and the product is waiting for them when they go to the Amazon website. Two months after the Ohio announcement, Amazon leased 20 more jets from Atlas Air, an air cargo company based in Purchase, N.Y. Amazon has also purchased 4,000 truck trailers. Meanwhile, a company subsidiary in China has obtained a freight-forwarding license that analysts say enables it to sell space on container ships traveling between Asia and the U.S. and Europe. In short, Amazon is becoming a kind of e-commerce Walmart with a FedEx attached.**With any other company, an expansion like this would be preposterous. But Amazon’s growth has been preposterous. In 2010 its annual revenue was $34 billion; last year, $107 billion. In 2010 the company employed 33,700 workers. By this June, it had 268,900. To have enough office space for its swelling headquarters staff, Amazon has swallowed Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood, and it’s building three tree-filled biospheres in the city that will allow workers to take contemplative breaks, like so many Ralph Waldo Emersons in Jetsonian luxury. The company is the fifth-most valuable in the world: Its market capitalization is about $366 billion, which is roughly equal to the combined worth of Walmart, FedEx, and Boeing.Online giant Amazon has hit back at claims that a hacker was able to steal over 80,000 user records belonging to Kindle users from one of its servers.**On 8 July, a hacker using the pseudonym 0x2Taylor posted a link on Twitter to a data dump that appeared to consist of thousands of customer credentials – including names, passwords, email addresses, addresses and telephone numbers.**Read more on IBTimes UK Technology* Anonymous declares ‘day of solidarity’ with Black Lives Matter to protest police brutality* WikiLeaks tells OurMine hackers to impersonate high-profile victims and ‘reveal corrupt behaviour’* Datadog hit by hackers, issues password reset notice to all customers*After widespread media coverage stating the online firm had suffered a leak, Amazon has since denied the data is real. In a statement, it said: “We have confirmed that this information did not come from Amazon’s servers, and that the accounts in question are not legitimate Amazon customer accounts.”**Previously, 0x2Taylor claimed to have demanded $700 (£540) from Amazon to stop the publication of the information and said it was only leaked after the firm ignored his messages. “I am Amazon, I fail at securing data for 80K users. I ignore warnings. Be like me today,” he posted to Twitter before uploading the data on a cloud service called Mega.

amazon hack on androidLast year Amazon brought a clever set of internet-connected buttons to consumers. These Dash buttons were designed to help users make quick repeat orders of common products. Now, a year after our friends across the pond, Amazon has finally brought its Dash buttons to the UK.**The thing is, it turns out any of the 48 available one-press ordering buttons can be used for far more than simple product orders. With a little bit of a tweak here and there, you can turn an Amazon Dash button into an Internet of Things device, allowing you to create portable light switches, connected trackers or silent doorbells. Not bad for a fiver.**Amazon Dash buttons are much cheaper than rival Internet of Things buttons on the market. Bttn will set you back €70 (about £52) and a Flic costs $90 (about £58), but Amazon’s battery-powered, Wi-Fi-enabled button is available for just £4.99.**That price comes with a compromise, though: Dash buttons aren’t as simple to manipulate. That said, it takes only a bit of tinkering to make them the internet-connected button you want them to be.**The hackability of Amazon’s Dash buttons was 1 who, for want of a better solution, repurposed a Dash button to track how often he had to change his newborn baby’s nappy.**Benson goes into detail in his Medium post about how he used a bit of Python script, his own data, and spreadsheet product Magic Form to log basic timestamps. However, by integrating IFTTT into your commands, you can use Dash buttons to build a connected home on the cheap. Two months after the Ohio announcement, Amazon leased 20 more jets from Atlas Air, an air cargo company based in Purchase, N.Y. The staff even successfully tested the trick themselves — highlighting the issue over three years before Springer’s breach.**In both examples, all the criminals needed was an email address, which is troubling if you use the same one to log in to all of your accounts. Plus, both Springer and Honan are tech experts, meaning just about anyone can be vulnerable to a similar scam.**To protect yourself, guard any personal info and use several email aliases across shopping sites. Most importantly, make sure you are notified if (or when) you get hacked. Turn on text and email purchase alerts through your bank and credit card company so you can report any issue right away.
